Starting in August, getting care while traveling is about to get easier.
Kaiser Permanente’s agreement with Cigna will provide more convenient access to care while traveling
As more members return to traveling on business trips, to visit family and for vacation, the last thing they want to worry about while away from home is how to get good health care. That’s why beginning in August Kaiser Permanente HMO and EPO members will have access to Cigna’s national network of physicians and providers, should they need emergency or urgent care during their travels away from home.
This new agreement with Cigna’s U.S. provider network and our new kp.org/getcare options, which provide 24/7 access to care by Kaiser Permanente health care professionals by phone or video, members will have even more ways to get care how and when they need it – virtually and in person.

Our Diabetes management programs help our members get the care they need to manage their condition and get the most out of life. Services include specialized care, medication monitoring, and education to help prevent complications.
Diabetes ABCs: • “A” is for A1c or average blood sugar. An A1c test gives a 3-month average of your blood sugar levels. • “B” is for blood pressure. The goal is at least 139/89 or lower, or 134/84 or lower if you use a validated above-the-elbow monitoring machine at home. Check with your provider for the goal that’s right for you. • “C” is for cholesterol. For most people with diabetes, using a statin medication at the right dose, along with healthy lifestyle changes, protects the heart and cardiovascular system. Remember to keep your ABCs under control.
Kaiser Permanente’s comprehensive approach toward Diabetes is supported by integrated systems, programs, and a healthcare team which comes together to help us focus on each member as a whole; with the goal of aligning the organization around the needs of every individual. It is what makes our Complete Care approach different and what helps our members thrive.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder. It affects a person's behavior, and it makes communication and social interactions hard.
ASD screenings are important. Finding signs of ASD early can help families get connected to resources and make a personalized treatment plan. Those things can help children reach their full potential.
